About this executable study
Obra (mais que) aberta does not use high-resolution shape tables. Its BASIC program works directly with the Apple II low-resolution graphics and text pages, which share screen memory. Colored horizontal structures become fields of text characters when the display mode changes; the words COMPUTERESE and UM MANIFESTO ? are then written into that unstable field.
The program subsequently flashes between graphics and text, fills the text page with repeated COMPUTERESE, lists its own BASIC source, and displays that textual memory again as low-resolution color. The cycle then begins again. The work is silent.
